Xiaguan, one of the major puer factories, has been producing Tuocha (the tightly pressed bowl-shaped cake) since 1902. These 100g cakes are from their "Teji" line of sheng puer. Teji means premium grade, and it is the highest of Xiaguan's 3 tuocha grades (Teji > Jiaji > Yiji). Xiaguan trees are known for their bold taste, which makes this tea a great candidate for aging.
Impressions:
At almost 20 years, this once fierce tea has mellowed very nicely in natural Taiwan storage. Camphor, sandalwood, leather, tobacco. Goes many steeps. Perfect for a budget puer, or for anyone learning about factory tea or sheng storage.
Preparation:
7g/ 100°C/ 100mL
